By Victor Bieni, Asaba

As many political gladiators contiue to show interest across the three Senatorial districts to contest the 2023 Governorship Elections in Delta State, “Delta Eagle Congress (DEC)” led by its President, Comrade Joseph Preye has said that Chief Edewor Ogheneovo is the only progressive Politicians in Delta that is capable of promoting Youths and Women employment, empowerment and needed Support for the less-privileged Deltans to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Comrade Preye made this disclosure today in Asaba, Delta State capital in a press conference to persuade Deltans to join DEC group in his 2023 Campaign towards ensuring that Chief Edewor take over from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

In his words: ” Given that the 2023 generation elections are around the corner, Deltans, however are looking to what comes after the current administration. We are at a point where we must carefully and diligently work out a governor with the temperament and skills to pilot the ship of State in an inclusive and results-oriented manner”.

“This is because our redemption, if or when it comes must be through politics. This, we know, does not give rise to our tendency to elect the worst of us. But there cannot be any salvation for this State outside a responsible and inclusive leadership with pan-delta outlook”.

As usual several names will be thrown up as we get closer to the 2023 election, among them the good, the bad, the ugly. Some of the aspirants will parade their jaded pro-democracy ‘credentials’, others their experience; and yet others will come with an entitlement mentality”.

“At a time like this, when we are assailed by insecurity, unemployment chronic poverty etc are need to focus on leadership because as we can all relate, it is the key dousing the tension and redirecting our collective political focus towards development issues. In 2023, Deltans need that person who can reach across social class and political aisles to create development conversation of inclusion. This Man is no other person than Chief Edewor Ogheneovo, the Eku born philanthropist”.

“It is perhaps needless to add that the first step to getting Deltans to speak with one voice again is to get a leader who speaks the language of inclusion and walks the talk. For DELTA EAGLE CONGRESS (DEC) for the last few months, CHIEF OGHENEOVO EDEWOR, THE EDJENEKPO OF EKU, has come across to us as that person”.

“There maybe others,we don’t know but CHIEF OGHENEOVO EDEWOR’s grasp of the issues, his public communication, his mien, and his pacifist outlook commends him as an excellent choice.Chief Ovo’s appeal is his knowledge base, training, calm, elan, comportment and his capacity to reach across the aisles of the divides that challenge our progress and development”.

“We carefully studied (Chief Ovo) body language and he is non-committal on the run for governor. If he does, however he would be doing the contest a lot of good,in the choices before us, especially as we crave for more inclusive leadership in the state”.

“Chief Ovo easily comes across as a temperate Progressives politician and businessman with focus, not just on the big picture but on the little things that are often left unconsidered in the adrenaline-soaked battle for political power. A Detribalised Urhobo man. The best Delta Central Person, and Best Deltan to govern Delta State”.

“One instance that commands our attention to him (Chief Ovo) is that he has impacted on humanity, with humility, deligence and resourcefulness, almost unsung hero,a quiet achiever of remarkable mileage”.
