ACCRA, GHANA – Professor Jude Osakwe, Continental Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Africa, has warmly commended the Nigerian community residing in Ghana for rallying round Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu. Ezeigbo Ghana.

Delta Uhuru Media (News Online) learnt this today being Thursday, July 17, 2025 from Professor Jude Osakwe as he emphasized the critical role of traditional stools in the diaspora for cultural preservation, while also highlighting collective efforts to restore peace within the community.

Speaking on the significance of traditional leadership in foreign lands, Professor Osakwe clarified that Igbo traditional stools, much like others, are established globally with the primary aim of preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people. He explicitly stated that these roles are not intended to usurp or interfere with the traditional structures of the host country.

“Nigerians deeply believe in the preservation of their cultural heritage, whether Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, or any other tradition,” Professor Osakwe stated, adding that Nigerian citizens take immense pride in showcasing their culture.

Specifically, Professor Osakwe extended his profound commendation to the High Commissioner of Nigeria to Ghana, His Excellency Ambassador Moses Ifedayo Adeoye, for his relentless efforts in ensuring the return of peace. He praised the Ambassador’s “exemplary leadership” in navigating the situation.

Further accolades were directed at Chief Calistus Elozieuwa for the pivotal part he played in fostering reconciliation and peace within the community. The Igbo Community in Ghana also received recognition for their collective endeavours.

The NIDO Africa Chairman also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Yoruba, Arewa, and other Nigerian tribal groups, as well as the well-meaning Ghanaian populace, for their significant contributions to ensuring lasting peace.
