Delta Uhuru Media ( News Online) learnt this from the Chairman , NIDO Africa, Prof Jude Osakwe today being Wednesday, May 6, 2025 in a press statement made available to some group of Journalists in Lagos State, Nigeria as NIDO Africa urges organizations, leaders on adoption of AI cutting-edged technologies.
The statement as signed by NIDO Africa Chairman, Prof Jude Osakwe, NIDO Africa Public Relations Officer, Ambassador Foloja Adura and other NIDO Africa top Executive Council Members stated as follows: “We unanimously challenge the recent claim, publications by TV News asserting that they pioneered AI television broadcasting on the continent in 2023”.
“The intention of NIDO Africa is to correct the false historical narratives, keep the records straight to highlight the increasing importance of Technological innovation in Africa”.
“Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) Africa executive council was deeply concerned by the publication of TVC News’ claim. It is simply inaccurate. NIDO Africa proudly introduced its AI television platform in 2023”.
“To allow any other organization to arrogate that achievement to themselves when we have been operating an AI-driven television channel for close to two years is entirely inappropriate.”
“NIDO Africa AI television station was launched by Professor Jude Osakwe, Chairman of NIDO Africa and a distinguished Professor of Information Technology. The station has been operational and utilizing AI technology in its broadcasting since its inception”.
“NIDO Africa’s statement signals a growing trend of AI integration within the media landscape of Africa. The dispute highlights the increasing importance of technological innovation in the African media industry, and the potential for different organizations to compete for recognition as leaders in the adoption of cutting-edge technologies like AI”.
