
******”Deltans in Diaspora Back Call for Dr. Favour Obakoro’s Reinstatement

The Delta State Diaspora Coalition, has joined the growing voices advocating for the reinstatement of Dr. Favour Obakoro, echoing the recent plea made by Professor Jude Osakwe, the Continental Chairman of the Nigeria in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) Africa.
Delta Uhuru Media (News Online) learnt this today being Saturday, April 19, 2025 in a press statement made available to some group of Journalists in Asaba, Delta State capital by the Coordinator, Delta State Diaspora Coalition, Dr. Godswill S.M. Odafe as Diaspora Deltans call for reinstatement of Ambassador Favour Obakoro as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s SSA Morals & Diaspora Affairs.
The leadership of the Coalition emphasized the importance of justice and fairness as regards Obakoro’s recent clearance from alleged fraud. Dr. Odafe highlighted the fact that Dr. Obakoro’s name has been cleared of any wrongdoing and questioned the continued delay in her reinstatement.
The statement by Coalition of Deltans in Diaspora reads in parts: “Since Dr. Obakoro has been exonerated, we see no justifiable reason for the ongoing hesitation in reinstating her. She has dedicated herself tirelessly to unifying Deltans in the diaspora and fostering a strong sense of community amongst them.”
“We commend Obakoro’s hard work and commitment to bringing all Deltans in the diaspora under a singular, unified umbrella. We have confidence in the Delta State Governor’s commitment to justice and fairness, stating, “Our Governor is known for his principled leadership and dedication to ensuring that right prevails”.
“We are confident that he will do the right thing in this situation. The Delta State Diaspora Coalition’s support the significant weight to the growing pressure for Dr. Obakoro’s reinstatement. The importance of this issue to Deltans both at home and abroad cannot be over-emphasized”.
“The call for her reinstatement reflects a desire for fairness, transparency, and a recognition of the significant contributions she has made to the Delta State diaspora community. The hope is that the Governor will heed the pleas of the Chairman of NIDO Africa and other well meaning Deltans and swiftly reinstate Dr. Obakoro to her previous position”.
