In a bid to promote equity, fairness and Justice, Following Obakoro’s recent clearance in line with Turkish Firms’, ERN’s investigative reports absolving Dr. Favour Obakoro from alleged wrongdoing, the Continental Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), Africa, Professor Jude Osakwe, has called for her reinstatement.

He made this special appeal to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to reinstate her former aide, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Morals and Diaspora Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Favour Obakoro to her rightful position in Delta State Government after being accused by “very darkman” of the crime she did not commit.
Vanguard learnt this from NIDO Africa Chairman, Prof. Jude Osakwe in a statement today being Monday, April 14th, 2025 made available to some group of Journalists in Asaba, Delta State capital as he urged concerned authorities to launch thorough investigation, unravel and prosecute those behind the scam which Ambassador Dr Favour Obakoro was wrongly accused of.
You could recall that Dr. Obakoro was previously implicated in a case that drew significant publications attention. The allegations of financial scam levelled against her by very darkman. The Turkish firm in the centre of the whole saga has come out to exonerate Former Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Aide, Ambassador Dr Favour Obakoro of the alleged scam allegations by very darkman.
NIDO Africa Chairman lamented that the just should not suffer for the unjust as he stated that the document which contains the Turkish firm’s investigative reports on alleged financial misconducts submitted to Nigerian Police and other relevant diplomatic authorities revealed that Obakoro was innocent, unjustly accused.
He said: “Nigerian Police, EFFC and other stakeholders should thoroughly investigate this matter because ERN investigative reports had stated that the petitioners; those who accused Obakoro are the scammers; those who scammed those innocent Nigerians they complained of. In the release, the NIDO Africa Chairman, Prof Jude Osakwe emphasized how he followed the case as findings showed that the accusers are the scammers as he expressed concerns about the role played by the police in the initial stages.
Prof Osakwe’s Press statement reads in parts: “I have followed the case of Dr. Favour Obakoro closely, paying particular attention to how she was implicated and the steps the police took throughout the process. Now that she has been cleared, I sincerely hope this case will not be swept under the carpet. Everyone involved in this setup should be thoroughly investigated.”
“This underscores the belief that Dr. Obakoro was unjustly targeted and that the entire affair warrants further scrutiny to identify any potential misconduct or abuse of power. I must sincerely commend Dr. Obakoro’s dedication and contributions to the Delta State government and the Diaspora community, her commitment while in office as former Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Aide on Morals and Diaspora Affairs”.

I know that the State Governor is a man of integrity and will not allow a just person to suffer for what she did not do. This release is a call for her reinstatement. This is rooted in the belief that Dr. Obakoro’s position is vital to the State’s efforts in engaging with the Diaspora and promoting ethical standards”.
The NIDO Africa Chairman expressed confidence in the Governor’s commitment to justice and fairness, urging him to swiftly restore Dr. Obakoro to her rightful post.
