As part of efforts towards ensuring global partnership, quality assurance and promote distinction in international education, Fortune University, Bareilly, Indian recently in this month of April, 2025 had signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Crown University Intl Chartered Inc., USA on academic excellence.
A statement today being Monday, April 7, 2025 by UNESCO Laureate Prof. Aremu Bashiru, made available to some group of Journalists in Asaba, Delta State capital by the Aremu’s Executive Assistant on Media, Publicity & Communication Matters, Comrade Sir Bieni Victor Emenike, he commented the MoU, global partnership and achievements so far as attained by the two Universities.
According to the VC CUICI, USA, the partnership was intended to improve and empower both institutions and their students as well as promote training in identified areas of special needs, such as social sciences, natural, health and applied sciences, humanities, arts, technologies, engineering, medicine, among others.
The statement by UNESCO Laureate reads in parts: “I must commend the recent April 2, 2025 MoU in global partnerships in international quality education to boost academic excellence between Crown University Intl. Chartered Inc. represented by its Vice Chancellor, UNESCO Laureate Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu , and Fortune University Bareilly, India, represented by its Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr.) Pankaj Kumar Mishra”.
“Fortune University Bareilly, India is a State private University established under the Government of Uttar Pradesh, India and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), having its principal office at Gaysganj Sarai, Bairelly, Uttar Pradesh -243503 India (hereafter referred to as “Fortune University”.
“Crown University Int’l, USA is a private University chartered in the United States of America, incorporated under the International Laws of 1704, 1776 and 1787 in USA at the State of Delaware with file number 7594662 and also accredited in Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education of Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, South America with trademark number 668383, customer number 270163. Crown University Int’l USA had received global recognitions and joint accreditation certificates from different global accreditation bodies such as INQAAHE, BQS, IAU, EQF, CHEF, AfriQAN and others”.
“The purpose of the MoU is to establish a framework for cooperation between the parties to promote academic collaboration, joint research, student and Faculty exchanges and Mutual capacity building. The two different Universities have resolved to establish a partnership for credit transfer, reciprocal arrangement, International conferences, seminar, workshop, training and research at all level of studies for global research network and international quality assurance network and other International activities worldwide”.
“Areas of Cooperation: The Parties agree to explore cooperation in the following areas: • Joint academic and research programs
Exchange of faculty, scholars, and students • Organization of joint conferences, seminars, and workshops • Sharing of academic resources, publications, and digital learning tools • Collaborative online and in-person courses and degrees, Cross-recognition of academic credentials as per mutual consent:
Faculty development and training programs • Joint initiatives aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.
“Responsibilities of the Parties Each Party shall: The two Universities shall appoint a coordinator to manage and oversee all activities under this MoU • Ensure timely communication and planning of all joint initiatives • Comply with all applicable regulations and standards in their respective countries • Respect and protect each other’s intellectual property and institutional autonomy”
“Duration and Termination: This MoU shall remain in effect for a period of five (5) years from the date of signing and may be renewed by mutual written consent. Either Party may terminate the MoU by giving three (3) months’ written notice to the other Party”.
“Legal Effect: This MoU serves as an expression of goodwill and mutual intentions to collaborate. It does not create any legally binding obligations or financial commitments unless specifically agreed upon through separate legally enforceable agreements. Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from the interpretation or implementation of this MoU shall be resolved amicably through mutual consultation and dialogue”.
