World’s renowned Environmental Activist, Desert Warrior, Dr. Newton Jibunor has commended the Founder/Executive Director, Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative (CGWCI), Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou for providing 3 days free vocational skill acquisition training, mentorship and business empowerment program for the Girl-child in Delta State.
Dr. Newton Jibunor, who doubles as the Founder, Fight Against Desert Encroachment (FADE) made this remark pen-ultimate weekend at Adewo Hall, Bishop Court, Asaba, Delta State capital as Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative organizes free vocational skill acquisition training for the Girl-child, basically for students, secondary school leavers and drop-outs in Delta state.
The young secondary school leavers, drop-outs and students who were taught how to make Egg- rolls, Dough-nuts, Puff-Puff, Zobo-drink, Bons, Organic Soap, Liquid Antiseptic and Bleach were charged to put to practice everything they have learnt, that no vocational skill is insignificant or irrelevant in the 21st century.
The Desert Warrior then admonished the young school leavers, drop-outs and students who were beneficiaries of the vocational skill acquisition training exercise to always have the zeal to explore, discover and invent new things like the whites does in their countries.
In his words: ” I commend Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative (CGWCI) for this empowerment program and i promise to work with them and give them my unwavering support towards equiping young Deltans with relevant skills. Indeed, this is a laudable project, or intiative and i advice you all to take the free vocational skills you’ve learnt very seriously”.
“My own story is a good example for you young ones to learn. I am an explorer and the desire to make an impact positively was what motivated me to embark on my adventurous travels through the desert. No one has ever travelled through the desert before, i am the first and only man to travel through the desert from London to Nigeria and Nigeria back to London four(4) times. Everyone of you from today must think outside the box. This desire will make you to change the narrative. It was this type of thinking that made me to move towards the positive path of life”.
Speaking further to our reporter during the training, the founder of Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative, Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou stated that the empowerment initiative is a way of joining the global Community to commemorate the International Day of the Girl-child 2021 so as to be solution providers and achieve their economic goals, while she stressed the importance of vocational skills and formal education towards the growth and development of the economy.
In her words: ” Vocational skills help to promote aggregate Economic performance in a state or country. It also helps to promote individual success in the labour market. Also, i would love to encourage you all to maximize the benefit of the digital space to acquire more knowledge and to promote your businesses. Remember our theme for the year is – Digital generation Our generation. Always ask questions when necessary , this will help you to excel in your choosen career”.

The beneficiaries; young secondary school leavers , drop-outs and students commended the leadership of the founder of the Courageous Girls Women And Children Initiative (CGWCI), Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou, the resource person, Dr. Newton Jibunoh and other development partners on their support, and making the empowerment, free vocational skill acquisition training possible for them towards self- reliance and self-empowerment, then promised to put all they’ve learnt into practice.
